You may have heard about different skin types ; there are four basic types and each one should follow a slightly different regimen for optimal results. But no need to worry about the fine points for now. The bottom line is to get going with a simple plan now and leave the fine points for later.
Skin Types
If you had a problem with acne during high school, your hair tends to be oily, you wake up with an oily film on your nose, forehead, or chin, and you tan easily: SKIN TYPE- OILY
If you under thirty-five, your hair tends to be dry, your hands often feel tight and rough, your skin feel tight after washing or showering and your skin breezed through adolescence with little or no problems; Your skin type is probably- DRY
If you're over thirty five, have raised brown spots, large freckles, or reddish patches on your skin, have developed lines around your eyes and forehead, your skin is dull with a pale or yellowish tone, and your skin sags along the jaw line. your SKIN TYPE is most likely COMBINATION
If you have even skin color, free of red or dark patches, are free of enlarged pores, your acne problems cleared up after high school, your hair stays fresh between shampoos and you can try skin products without fear of irritation then your skin type is NORMAL
If you have Dark brown skin tone, very rarely burn, and dark eyes and dark hair your skin type is DARK
If you have Light to olive skin tone, sometimes burn, have hazel eyes, auburn to light brown hair your skin type is OLIVE
Simple Homemade Skin Masques
Run out of skin care products? Run out of money? Well, it happens to the best of us. So here are a few recipes for homemade masques to tide you over
Oily Skin
Mix a half cup cooked oatmeal with an egg white, a half cup of mashed apple and one tablespoon fresh lemon juice into a paste.
Allow oatmeal to cool. Apply to face and let set for 10 minutes. Wipe off with coarse cloth and rinse with lukewarm water.
Dry Skin
Combine one egg yolk with a half cup cooked oatmeal, half a mashed banana and a tbsp. honey. Allow to cool to the touch. Apply, let set for fifteen minutes and then rinse off with cool water.
Sensitive skin
Mix one whole egg, one half cup cooked oatmeal and 1 tbsp almond oil. Allow oatmeal to cool to lukewarm. Apply to face and wait 10 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water.
Gelatin Masque
Mix one packet of unflavored gelatin with 1 tbsp fruit juice like grapefruit, orange or lemonand heat in a microwave until warm.
Apply to face in thin layer and let it dry to the touch. Then peel the masque off and rinse with cool water. Instant peel masque!
